finally
i got rid of my gen 2 fabspeed exhaust, and replaced it with a GEN 1 ..
man , this thing sounds AMAZING

the 100 cell cats through a CEL because theyre done... so in goes the cat bypass pipes on monday


i cant believe u guys think the exhaust is too loud
i think its perfect
it only gets loud when you go above 3500

ive been driving with the windows down since thursday
also, the cold start up emits the most beautiful flat 6 sound ive ever heard

Great choice.... I LOVE the Gen one stuff as well, and when you truely understand the "Pros vs. cons" its the way to go. Congrats on your choice, now go scare some children and old people.

 

Try a straight pipes cold start! It doesn't get any louder than that!

 

I hear ya man...I got mine 4 years ago at the local dealer because another customer put it on and drove it around the block and hated it. It is the best sounding exhaust you can put on this car IMO.

Winding it out to redline with the fab sounds insane.

 

i start mine in the morning and go inside for a minute to say goodbye to my wife and daughter, when i get inside the house, it is vibrating, no joke......actually resonating...doors on the laundry room cabinets quivering, my poor neighbors. LOL.

 

from what i understand, the fabspeed gen 1 exhaust is essentially, a straight thru exhaust, with 100 cell cats, correct ?

 

Each pipe is a 100 cell cat and a resonator that they call a muffler. The two pipes cross each other and exit out opposite ends.

Does it drone on the hiway?

 

there is drone but it is better than straight pipes only. Livable imo. The drone is not at speed, but at rpm, and it typically starts at 2300 rpm and ends at 2700 rpm range and gets louder under load. by 2800 you are out of the drone zone. Most aftermarket exhaust have some sort of drone, but you just don't hear it as bad. Even the EP loud has it but it is not loud and so not noticed as much.
