Pentosin fluid leaking need help!!
This is why I did the upgrade...to me, reading T2 who has gone through a bunch of these, even 800 5x was a lot....I figured 1650 was better...double one time only.
My math. And, it is better. I'd do it again. My opinion only.

(drive a gt3, per Stephen Kaspar that is how the evoms mod feels...if that works for you...if not, don't do the mod)

But the sad part of all this is, we all know slaves cylinders will eventually leak externally or internally ( clutch reservoir overfilling),we all know this is going to affect every Porsche 996TT owners and we have to pay for this bad design. I found that frustrating especially for an expensive car like this.... I hope there is not too many of these weak links because I like to tell my friend I did a good deal when I purchase this car and I am happy and proud about being a Porsche owner....
Now to get back to the problem.....My friend and I just changed the reservoir and seems like we might have done the job but...I just saw two leaks again, fresh on the ground. It maybe the the remaining fluid leak on other parts. I will keep you all posted. So tough that place to work on. So I hear lots of people wanting to change to EVO conversion kit. Sounds like a good idea.
amazing similarity...
On the left you got the 997 and on the right the GT2 2003-2005.... No comments..... Anyway somebody somewhere took a good decision and kept the good working system and we are stuck with the bad one ;-(
Sorry about this mistake but the one on the left is for the GT-3 and the 997 non turbo....Cannot found the turbo parts cat...

Excuse me if I help you with this one but I also did the job (under the car on my back) with Mike explanation and it took me 3.5 hours including the bleeding... And it was my first time.... Under a lift you can save little more time, I guess...

This hydraulic assist stuff seriously is such a POS... I can't believe there's a 2005 Turbo S at the shop and it's had leaks too. For those of with with upgraded clutches getting rid of the hydraulic assist in favor of the EVO/GT2 style clutch slave/master set up actually makes it easier to engage the clutch (IMHO). Yes the pedal requires more input/effort like a GT2 but at least it'll _NEVER_ leak again and in my mind makes it easier to drive anyways...

Let Dan or myself know if you guys are interested...

Before it felt like sloppy, now it feels more precise.
Instead of having it "engage" for you and you end up feeling "nothing" just a numb pedal... Oh and a leaky POS!
That slave cylinder price is way expensive... I got TWO from Suncoast for $289 each (or less, as memory is failing me this AM).

I fully agree with Sharkster. I have it in my car. If it leaks on you people..I'd just do the mod....in the end, if you plan to keep you car for a year or two more, it might save money. Driving will be way better. Period.
In my opinion, Porsche should just buy the mod from evo and offer it as a repair when these cars fail for free due to a design flaw. My 2c.
Love the car, few flaws, this is one.
I fixed 2nd gear popout too....to prevent it from happening. I've had all the "flaws" find me. And I have fixed each one properly. Not cheap. But that is how I do things I guess. So, I plan to keep my car a long time because it has none left! Except perhaps the pilot.

I agree 10fold... Had I known of this issue when I had the clutch replaced, I'd have never gone the route of just replacing the OEM crap with more, Well, Crap! Such a waste of money and potential major issues with fire.
