I posted the instructions on the installation in post #12 of the thread and put my impressions of it there too. I have NOTHING TO DO WITH EVOMS. Nada. No dime has come my way from them, etc. I bought it from IA (porschphd)...as a thank you to him for his advice over the years. I'd try to find a place that has done it or is very familiar with the TT's plumbing. Just to save some $$$/hrs.

My guess is about 8 hours labor would be about right with everything you need to do, possibly up to 10 hours, plus coolant costs, and of course the cost of the kit and some brake fluid.
It's probably about a $2200 parts/labor upgrade unless you're doing it yourself!

Mike is right on. 8 hours by a good indy. He did not charge me for the leak debugging...that as about 2 more hours. His issue....and some wasted fluid. My indy is less than that sum....call it 1650 dollars or so (all of it)..... They might charge more now as it was a PITA.....
Steve K at IA says it is 3-4 hours. So your mileage may vary by expertise. Hence, go to your "best" shop, ideally to be honest, someone who has done it before. EvoMS should have a list of dealers and perhaps installers in your area.

I just went through the installation of the clutch mod and the biggest part is not under the car but also the removal of the steering pump and reservoir and modification of the pump itself. And after you have to replace the oem clutch master cylinder and install a spring assy. You got work on the pedal mechanism, in the engine compartment, under the car and also you have to flush the pentosin.... The slave cylinder removal and the installation of the new actuator on the tranny can be done with the clutch if replaced but imho evaluation of time saving is about 3 hours not more.... But I can be wrong and I have to admit this mod seems to be very interesting. Especially the final result....

You have several areas where it can be leaking from. You have three lines that connect to the slave cyclinder, plus the accumulator, plus the line that connects the flex line to the green hardline all at the rear.
All the parts to "fix" the leak will run you about $375. Labor should be somewhere around 3 hours or less.
Don't drive that car until you fix it, as the fluid can leak onto the turbos or the cats and the Pentosin fluid has a VERY HIGH flashpoint for ignition. In other words, it takes a LOT of heat to ignite it, but when it does, you will lose your car...

My slave went last night... as soon as I smalled the pentosin I shut it off and had it towed. The Indy quoted $1100... $430 for the part and 6 hours labour.
How sure are you on the labor hours?
Excuse me if I help you with this one but I also did the job (under the car on my back) with Mike explanation and it took me 3.5 hours including the bleeding... And it was my first time.... Under a lift you can save little more time, I guess...
996-314-166-00 accumulator: $145.61
996-116-237-52 slave cylinder: $444.25
Grab the one on Ebay !!!!http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-...ht_2484wt_1440

Yup, 2.5 to three hours is the standard and I've helped a few of my 6speeds brothers do this one at my shop already... It's a really simple repair once you've done it once.
If they're charging you to remove axles and drop starters, they're charging it because the book calls for it. However, I didn't do either on ALL of the cars I've done it on (mine included) with zero issues.

so then a real experienced porsche mechanic should be able to do this in about 2 hours in addition to the clutch replacement time?
