Running RWD on rolling road
Running RWD on rolling road
Sorry for the newbie question but .
I have notice a lot of you guys convert to rwd to get a power run on rolling roads, is there any reason behind this apart from only having 2wd dynos local.
Also is it a big job to do, as my local car club is about to hold a rolling road day but its a 2wd dyno only.

Sorry thats what we refer to a dyno as over here.
So if it was just for a power run up on a 2wd dyno its just a case of disconnecting the front shafts at the diff.

There are some DIY's posted here if you want to try it. Even a noob can do it.

Hi Tom yes there are a few 4wd dynos in Scotland mostly Maha and Dyno Dynamics, was only asking as the place my local club are holding a dyno day at only have 2wd. May have a word with the dyno operator and see if he has ran any 996tt's in this way before.
in order to dyno AWD 996TT specific dynos are needed...The 4wd dyno has to have both axles connected as one...otherwise the 4wd system of the 996TT wont cooperate resulting in broken front diff or burned clutch...Have that in mind...
skandalis447 thanks for the tip something for me to keep in mind as i know there arent many tuners in Scotland that work with Porsches. May be easyer to pick one i trust even if they only have a 2wd dyno and run it with the output shaft disconnected.
