normal running temperature

while having exhaust replaced, the shop guy try to remove the plate that pushes/separates the exhaust and the engine, in anycase, a hose came lose and about 1/2 gallon of coolant came out before he can tighten it back to stop the leak.
i did a search on coolant and see what coolant i should use, and was keeping an eye on the temperature gauge to make sure it was not over heating due to lack of coolant...
temperature reads about 180-185,
is this the a correct temperature for normal, no agressive driving?
and should i be worried about air pockets in my coolant/cooling lines?
thanks in advance
jeff-

My temp gauge usually runs just north of 180, so I'd say you're about normal... Can't answer to the air bubble question though

For regular driving when fully warmed up, the needle is along the right hand edge of the "0" in the "180" for me.

Buy the porsche coolant and run the car with the purge valve open (the black cap with the metal loop) after a while, stop the car, let it cool and fill the coolant tank with what is needed. Maybe repeat 2-3 times and you're done.

Mine will not warm up in cold weather (under 50 degrees). It sits at 140 to 150. Had everything checked, sensors and thermostat. All in working order, what gives?
