Ran a R33 this morning ... disappointed

Did a few pulls with a modded R33 this morning. Basically 100km/h to 200km/h stuff. We were pretty much dead even every time.

He claims that his car is modded to ~500hp and with a "Nismo hand balanced engine" - don't really know GTRs well enough (and Japanese) to know what that means. My car is K16/16g. I thought I'd have the hp advantage (and a slight weight advantage) over him? Or do I only have the advantage at the lower end and I'm running out of steam at 100+?

(oh and he claims he can pull on R35 ... is he really 500hp or is he just being the typical humble Japanese and understating his hp?)

Also ran with a 360 spyder - pulled on him every time

16G is not what you would call a great "highway" turbo. It's quick spooling abilities belong on the race track and back roads. For the highway, you should START with the 18G, and see how you do from there...

We have some members on the board with 16g setups which are very effective roll racers (60-130 ~ 7.0s) I doubt even a 500 WHP GTR could go under 7s in 60-130. If I were the OP I would evaluate my own car and make sure its performing as it should.

R33's are not that heavy, I think the weight is about the same as the TT, maybe even lighter. If hes 500 hp, that's about what you are too, it's just power to weight working there. Just looked it up, R33's are aroung 3400 lbs, so you are heavier.

^^ agree,

sounds like a driver's race.
Do your own 60-130 in a safe place and see how your car is running.

You have upgraded DV's? Exhaust??

Doesn't say in your sig. But those two things alone could significantly change the outcome.
