996TT Internal Mods?

I am contemplating doing some internal mods, I know there is a huge range between basic and advanced kits including machining, what are some options and associated costs?

I know evoms has an internals kit, are there other competing vendors?

Thanks.

Do yourself a favor and dont do it, stay where you are. Once you get in the engine it is a never ending series of "well, since I'm in here" type upgrades. It can and will be frustrating and expensive. Good luck, Kevin

if you do anything just make it simple dont go over board, also when you go to crazy you will loose that every day drivability a bit also.

Basic internals would be:

Head Gasket, Head studs, and rods...

KPG, is right on about the "well, since i'm in here" theory...

Wow- not what I had expected, but good advice.

You can go all the way up to 680 whp or so on a stock motor if you do it properly.

You have quite a ways to go. Upgraded turbos, injectors second fuel pump...

Most people just do rods if they do the motor. Of course there are the 1,000 HP guys... different league altogether. Me?

Rods, better head gaskets, competition valve job,balancing/blueprinting and bigger studs are the minimums IMO.

lets say you do the bottom end...now your car might be able to handle GT 35's, but w/ the stock crank you won't be able to rev high enough to get the most out of them. And If you do the crank you will need head work of course. Then you might as well go w/ a 3.8 stroker....

pauter or carrillo rods (with the carrillo u have to grind some clearance in the oil pump) the pauters clear just fine.. apr makes a good set of studs.. i replace the injectors while the motor was out a ton easier that way
tim

ps i do not have the invoice here at home but was able to look up what i paid for the studs, rods and injectors $3876.00 from todd at protomotive
