i hope thats not true about the hp on the tip. I got the gt700 from evoms and have had no problems, (yet) are you saying that i should be expecting some issues.

ASk EVO if they replaced the TC with the upgraded one. IF so, you should be fine.

IMO, most of us don't really need the TC except for the high hp Tip like BlackHorseTurbo has. To get a TC because of a couple of mods... totally overkill.

Edited: BTW Todd's car is also running much harder since he's hanging with the Houston crew.

from what evoms is saying, unless your at 900 hp you really shouldnt need a TC, i believe i am pushing just as mush as Black Horse hp and im trying to find out what the right answer is.

900 crank right? The lesson that I'm taking from this is to be careful with how I run the car after the replacement tranny. I'm done with adding more power most likely.

About how many pulls did we do that day we ran, Todd...about 14?

As far as the EVO stuff goes, they make some great parts, I have them (I love their IC's I have) in my car. However the hp claims are pure bull****. The EVO 850 is a touch slower (based on traps speeds, 60-130 time etc.) than my little old car that dynoed 675. The funny thing is, when I pointed this out, some little nut hugger neg repped me and left the comment "dumb."

I guess being scepticle when claimed 850 hp cars are about as fast as a car that actually dynoes 675 makes me dumb

Fortunately, the little dbag didnt have any rep himself but it just goes to show what herd mentallity is like.

The EVOMS car that went 9.7's or whatever was a GT850/900 car I think. I was told it had the same turbos that I have. It weighed a little less than what your car does Sean. That car would make you look stupid if you lined up against from a roll, stop, etc.. You have to realize and I know it's hard (Because I've said this a million times!!) but most of these cars that they build are full weight 996TTs... They aren't lightweight GT2s, and when you start adding all this stuff it starts adding weight. WEIGHT MAKES A GIANT DIFFERENCE!

i think we will always WANT more power, as far as crank power, i believe you are right. How we all seem to forget crank vs. wheel, i just want to be careful on my car, i dont drive it evetryday baut when i do i want it to be perfect.

If you look at the vid posted about the Speed Channel program last night, you will see that last years show featured an EVO "850" than ran a few lengths ahead of TorresMD's car (which ran a 7.8 60-130) when it trapped 136 in the 1/4. My car is faster than that so I am not sure what you mean by "stupid." Actually, I am sure what stupid means in this context but I am too nice to say so

Let us think for a second.... I have the same turbos as a GT800 car... I make 1 more rwhp than you do according to your graph you posted (not the numbers you say)... A car with a built motor will make more due to the ability to run extra boost... Do the math my friend... It is not that hard to figure out that if that motor was put in to a light weight car (Like yours, Paulies, Ryans, etc) it would haul ***... My car weighs 3650lbs with me in it... Your car, even with a stereo, weighs about 3400lbs with you in it. 250lbs is almost 3mph in the 1/4 and 3 tenths in the 1/4. It is a LOT more on the 60-130 scale...

Regardless Joe's GT800 car trapped 10.5s @ 140mph with AWD at the same weight as my car. You say your car will go a 140mph but we are all waiting for you to go prove it. Don't give me the excuse that drag racing will hurt your car. All you have to do is leave like a stop light and take off in 1st gear. If your car is as fast as you think it is, it should go 140 like that. I think it will, but don't claim it till you prove it. I have seen you do it in other post. I did 137 in the heat without launching the car, in fact it bogged on the launch; but you do not see me out there saying the car IS a 140mph car. I said I THINK it should go 140mph in the right weather, only because I understand how density altitude effects the way your car performs.

You know I would not go out of my way to defend EVOMS usually. They are a great company and have built some AWESOME cars. I just think they are a little overpriced (but then again I'm young and a cheap ***). I am mainly doing this to prove a point.
