I just got a new (to me) '02 with the Bose sound system and the single-din CDR-220 head unit.

I just want to replace this crappy head unit with something more modern that has a front USB port that I can hook my ipod up to, like the current generation Pioneer or Kenwood head units.

I don't care about the CD changer, nor do I want to rip and replace the entire system.

I am looking for recommendations regarding the head unit itself AND a place in Orange County (Newport Beach - Laguna Beach) to get it installed where people know how to work on Porsches.

I welcome any and all input.

 

I'm bumping this thread as I'm interested in this as well for an 01. Something simple I can hook an ipod up to, single din (I have the GT3 delete w/ ac above the radio).

I STRONGLY recommend Alpine head units.

Also, anyone know if that deck is possible in an 03 TT that has the fiber optics?
