Who has Experience shipping thier car to Germany
SubscribeLike the title says who has done it and what do's and don'ts can you share? Also, who did you use and would you use them again? Last what was the approximate cost?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm moving to Germany and want to bring the TT but don't want it messed up like the wife’s car. She used a Roll on Roll off shipment method. The car got lots of scuffs and new dings
I'm leaning toward a 20 foot private container. But this cost more than double the Roll on Roll Off.
The car will ship from the east coast. Either Baltimore, Newark or Norfolk depending on pricing.

Gruss Gott !
I've shipped from Seattle to Vienna (AT) a couple of years ago. Used a 40 foot container for 2 cars. 5K$, all included.
If you've owned and insured the car for more than 6 months in the US, you can avoid import taxes and VAT on the European end. Homologation might cause issues though. Hope you still have the original exhaust.
Alternatively, if you decide to bring it back to the US after your tour of duty, I would just keep it on a US plate and get insurance through GEICO (they insure overseas). Also will save you on the automatic camera tickets they'll try to send you. Nothing works better than a foreign plate in that case.
If you want to, I can bring you in contact with a good friend in Munich who has shipped several Vipers from the US to DE.

I used a company a few years ago to ship my 996 from France. Automobile Concept 305 893 1950, ask for Sylvia. They did everything for me, taxes, paper work, customs...
I shipped a couple of cars to Germany a few years ago from Miami. I am bringing home one of them at the end of the month. I will check the export documents and get back to you.
Ive shipped from Dubai to Uk and US to UK. Both different companies and both went fine.
Use a container tho- its secure and no one can get to it.
Just make sure you are not charged import taxes for bringing it in, you shouldnt but need to get the right forms in Germany when it goes through clearing.

Please do. My car will also be going to Pfaffenhausen.
Gunther, If you do have to instal an OEM stock exhaust, get intouch with SUNCOAST, as they normally have them CHEAP and will ship them out quick... Have one shipped to my place, then just come down and we'll instal it. We can box up your militek and you can stick it in the container with your car... Get with Ryan and you already have my address... No big deal, just let me know man!
Oh, and I DO NOT miss my aftermarket exhaust man... I know we were talking about doing the EP2 Quiet, but I don't miss the minimal loss in power or the noise/ drone!
