I heard that RobMD did "close to 230 last year" in the mile . . . Congrats Rob!!!
Don't worry Bro, I got you...
, they will get whats coming
Sure.....you see the members of this forum are very serious about the performance of our cars. This is clearly evident if you take a look at our comprehensive 60-130/1/4 mile list, which requires proof (slip, video, verifiable data)of times/mph to be reviewed by one of our own experts(we have 3 I believe) before it is added to the list.Incidentaly this list was started by a moderator(Divexxtreme) who also has a few times at the top of the list.We spend a large amount of time and money trying to get the best performance possible from our particular setups. So when someone makes a claim that rivals one of the top recorded performance numbers on the site and also claims to have done it years prior, well we start asking for proof.........."Oh you don't have proof ?Oh, I see, its on your buddies cell phone?
Your dog ate the slip?Your a street racer and you race for money so I can only tell you how fast my car is but can't back it up with real data because someone might see it?"Well that basically doesn't fly around here and you will get called on it.You see when it comes to real world numbers we are serious. This is how we learn and find out what works and what doesn't and helps new guys like you get down a mod path the first time .

Good explanation Joe. I plan on heading down to the mile just to see what I can do. But I wonder if using Nitrous to get a bit higher speed might not be worth it. Has anyone done this using NOS. I know it's akin to cheating, but if I can break 200 with it, that will be cool.
AFAIK, Chad (CJV) has been the only person around to have success with the nitrous so far - maybe he'll be there this year. And there was one guy from Romania or something (Wrix?), who had a simple 200shot on his 996TT with practically no other mods, running mid-11's, but he hasn't been around for awhile. IMO, using NOS for a top-speed run is a poor idea.

thanks, you're probably right. I don't wanna leave pieces at the end of the run
I agree with you Sean. I really dont care about the numbers and I would never have posted any of my dynos graphs..but the peer pressure got to me. I think Joe cars has set some incredible standards...
Sean
But the GT 800 ran a 9.6 at the 1/4 mile. So I have never ran one so I want to see how fast my car is compared to it. If my car is close than I should have a 9 second car as well??
That dyno you are refering was last year and I think we were only able to push 26 or 28 pounds of boost, which resulted in overy 1000 HP. Since then we have add more boost, I think the most has been...
I stand behind my statements... if these guys think they beat me or think they can beat me then this time I will not be nice and give them the jump. Ofcourse, this time I think we should throw in some green backs?
Robert
Lastly, with all the encounters in Mexico, bluey pulled EVERY car it line up with and if they were even closed I asked them to line up again and they all backed down. This is said with humbleness....
think they all turn down their boost when they race me?? I heard that several times on friday night? Oh well, I was out there with 10 different Supras and not one of them beat little bluey. Don't know what else I can do?
Robert
did some serious driving in Mexico.
Raced
White Supra from New Mexico, Sebatian Silver bullet, Kareem Killer Bich, Green Supra, 1000+ twin turbo SS Camaro and a few more .... bluey came through every time.
Robert
I meet Kareem on a highway in Mexico.... I think he has more respect for little bluey?
Robert
When you talk like this you should have solid data to back up your claims, Theres plenty more where this came from!!!You will be called out all the time.. Thier are plenty of fast cars very few with Data, speak this way.. & if you are a big dog street racer why talk like this on a public forum? The whole point is secrecy
IMHO

The above was passed to me in PM by KPG.He was looking for confirmation but couldn't find any.I passed it on to a few to see if anyone had seen it.If this is true(big if) I think its an even bigger achievement than what MPH my own car put up recently.so tell us Rob what happened?

I met Rob at the Texas Mile in Oct 07.
He did not have a car there at that time.
(I honestly do not know why he wouldnt run his car, it
clearly is VERY POWERFUL, but unsubstantiated claims are, well,
just that; unsubstantiated claims).
Simple deduction tells me that he could possibly run a 210-215 or so (at the most; IMHO)
Didnt VR run 217 mph this year?? This is a phenominal accomplishment!!
Joe's (JoeTwint) current set-up is by far the most potent currently (except, possibly a 9FF or two across the pond).
The big problem is that Saying and Doing are two completely different things.
Nobody really believes that Rob ran this fast, people are just having fun with it and Craig loves to stir the pot (taking a PM and making it public??). That is what Craig calls perjorative.
MK
Joe,
BTW, Great explaination above (I just keep getting bumped further down
the list which means the technology AND the incentive to beat others is helping everyone)

Why wouldnt Rob run a 230+. According to his dyno he is making more power than Joe. Further Joe was not running at full boost on his runs and his dyno runs at 922 rwhp were on full boost (correct me if Im wrong)
Jag
FYI, the 9ff car (the blue one in all the mags and articles) ran at Bruntingthorpe VMax about 2yrs ago. It did 211mph. Keep in mind that this is a 1.6mi long runway, and from the appx 60-80mph turn at the bottom you have about 1.3mi of WOT enjoyment. Joe's car would leave any of the 9ff cars for dead and probably run north of 260mph if it had the gearing and braking area for it.

Having said that, this is not the point of this thread(who's car is faster),undoubtedly Rob has a fast car,.the point is as Marty said"saying and doing is two different things".I would expect if I made a claim to some of our members such as running a number as fast as one of the fastest substantiated and verified numbers we have that I would be required to provide proof or be hung out to dry.Atleast I would like to think so.Otherwise I would just be outright lying and undermining the substantiated and verified numbers others have run.
