I heard that RobMD did "close to 230 last year" in the mile . . . Congrats Rob!!!
I met Rob at the Texas Mile in Oct 07.
He did not have a car there at that time.
(I honestly do not know why he wouldnt run his car, it
clearly is VERY POWERFUL, but unsubstantiated claims are, well,
just that; unsubstantiated claims).
Simple deduction tells me that he could possibly run a 210-215 or so (at the most; IMHO)
Didnt VR run 217 mph this year?? This is a phenominal accomplishment!!
Joe's (JoeTwint) current set-up is by far the most potent currently (except, possibly a 9FF or two across the pond).
The big problem is that Saying and Doing are two completely different things.
Nobody really believes that Rob ran this fast, people are just having fun with it and Craig loves to stir the pot (taking a PM and making it public??). That is what Craig calls perjorative.

Joe,
BTW, Great explaination above (I just keep getting bumped further down
the list which means the technology AND the incentive to beat others is helping everyone)

Nobody said that it wasn't fast
. He talks a good game, but when you claim to do 230 at the mile (when you were not there) let alone even run. You deserve to be called out. I think we (6speed) need to keep all the bull**** aside & give credit where its due. I feel it undermines the people that contribute, run their cars, don't keep secrets & give solid data to be verified. IMHO the people that have their names on those list should have our utmost respect...
Bottom line don't make ridiculous claims, unless you have proof...
That's a normal response for him guys. Of course he didn't run the mile or that speed. He's been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Private or not, this is a small and close-knit community and that kind of claim was inevitably going to see the light of day one way or another.
Hey, at least he's not posting in rainbow colors and alternating capital letters anymore.

This reminds me of Alex telling me he ran 238 or something like that at a "secret" Vegas mile run....but then could barely crack 220 in front of witnesses....and then never paid up when he lost my bet.
Rob, this is just a fun hobby for most everyone on here...no need to lie in order to try to gain respect.

So sorry to offend anyone here... just enjoying life but to answer everyones question..did I do 227??? I did reach 227 in the mile. Unfortunately, I never said I did this at Goliad... It was actually close to Dallas and it was around the end of 2007? I truly dont remember when because I have been over 200 several times... and I think this topic came up because of the great accomplishment of EVOMS and Joe. Take this bit of info as you will......

rob, if you're going to say exact 227 (which imo is absolutely SICK, esp if you were doing it 2 years ago), why not throw some solid data out there? For starters, where exactly? anyone else there to verify this claim? Someone must've been there as you didn't do this alone. you mentioned akram might have video... you should be digging it up as we speak. it would really help your cause.
I am not trying to validate anything... I am just answering questions that were brought up through a private message. I dont have proof, maybe Akram might have this video stored... I have asked him and he is searching for it. If I know that telling Kevin this bit of info would have started such a fuss I would have never written him... Oh well

But there is good news out of this, I am sure your have the Drift box file on hand. There is such a scarcity of solid high speed data on these cars, we can plot out a spreadsheet for you against Joe's car. We can see the strengths and weakness of the competing setups and philosophy at single MPH data points all the way up to 200+ and beyond. This is a true windfall for the 6Speed community. I know you have the data since the video you refer to is vitrually useless since it may show something going 227mph but we want to see it going 227 mph in 5280ft from a dig.
Also, I will never, ever understand why you will not hold your car up to standard benchmarks on this board such as the "real" mile, 60-130, and trap speed. My theory is that you have realized you have nothing to gain and everything to lose. You have thorughly hyped you car that if it lives up to its claims, well it was expected to do so. If it doesnt then you look sort of foolish. You said to me that there are too many naysayers on 6speed and I will agree, but hard data will SILENCE naysayers, not create them. You have a supremely capable car that many could only dream about owning, but you do it a huge disservice with these claims with no substantiation.
Again, no hard feelings, but why dont we agree to ALL meet up in TX this Fall. I am trying to get a whole bunch of cars shipped out there from Proto, EVOMS,EPL, and UMW. All these cars on the same track same day, sounds like a win win.
