Tyson,
Not everything has to do with software. In all fairness most have never even cracked a 996TT motor. Aside from the TTs don't forget that I continue to build, develop and tune the older stuff as well. Speed gallery does real work, but so many chip tuners do chips and wheels. They might pull a motor every now and then but when it comes down to it nothing is fabbed or made. No barriers are broken. They just bolt on wheels or what ever suspension they can sell today. If you showed them a turbo map they would think it was the solar system. I think it is a little unfair to look at a companies scope of work based on chip tuning alone. Hell I was putting down 700HP on EFI conversions 6-7 years ago. That was unheard of. I supercharged my SC, that was unheard of. The list goes on. Software is only a small fraction of the pie. So is HP BTW.

I also have a new project. A 986s that is being fitted with a TT motor.
Stephen, how much do you know about Protomotive? I don't really quite understand what you are trying to say. I don't doubt that you know how to tear apart a motor and rebuild it.

Your statement seems to imply that Protomotive only does software tuning. What do you think Todd's wife Cynthia does? You can bet she knows as much about tearing down and building a motor as much as anyone.

I guess next month you will have the opportunity to show us if you can build a faster car than the Knightons. But based on the results last time, I don't think you can help but be impressed by their knowledge of software and hardware!

I have been doing this for over 10 years now. I would say I know a little bit about them.

My comments were not direct towards one company and no where near Todd K. Try not to be so defensive eh? My point was in reference to the comment about me and Evo and other chip tuners that can install like software and did the same thing. Now I am sure many can do chips, but my point was no way am I just a chip tuner. Thats all. It was also that these other install companies are not real tuners either. Less than 10 people in the nation aside from the dealer go inside 996TT motors. I don't just bolt things on. No disprespect towards Todd K. You missed what I was trying to say.

We will see in the next few weeks. Should be a good time

Stephen, I'm not the one being defensive. Your point is well taken, but I never called you a chip tuner in any way shape or form. Why would I even imply that since Garrett/GIAC writes your and EVO's programs???
