Predictions: tiptronic GT28"alpha" vs 6-speed K24/18g
What are you predictions on this race:
My car is making 535awhp and 606lb/ft on EPL's mustang dyno with injectors, GT28 "alpha" turbos, and meth/93octane My car is a 01 tiptronic.
Vs
My friends 996 with K24/18g turbos and 5lb regulator with race gas made 497awhp/540tq on a dyno dynamics dyno. His is an 03 with 6-speed. Very good driver.
Both cars EPL tuned.
I know the tip has more drive line loss I have heard anyware from 27%-35%. Does anyone have more solid #s?
Probably racing from ~40 to 140mph. So what do you guys think?

Check out the results on post 133. The cars were dead even ...

and my max boost was 1 bar. I will have a 1.2 bar file next week if my injector duty cycle permits.
Dynodynamics reads 7-10% lower power than a Mustang dyno. Peak #'s mean nothing , in a roll race its the area under curve that counts and I think you should have more power under curve with higher boost (>1.2 and more fuel, more airflow from bigger compressor).

As a comparison, my car with EPL tune and race gas at 1.27 bar made 550 AWHP and 610 torque on Tony's dyno. I have dual fuel pumps, injectors, 75mm TB, Y-pipe, etc. I think with these mods it could be close, but without injectors, etc. - probably alpha car...

I agree if i am on 1bar file. The outcome could change if i run 1.2 bar file next week

Missing a shift and losing a race is better than a broken tranny
....how about towing a car with a broken tranny home. and plunking 10k .He has no upgraded TQ Conv.. you saw what happened to blackhorse with much lesser tq on a stock tranny..j/k i know the tranny death wont be instant...over time it may.
Either way i think he will pull on me....its simple. he has more HP and TQ faster spool higher boost , more fuel, more octane etc..

TQ conv. is only helpful when power braking it .. evoms TQ conv. gives higher stall speed.. correct?

is there money or pink slips on the line? is the winner going to change his car set up to the other guys? well then different trannies and drivers so doesnt mean much. at least switch cars and repeat the event so we have something to talk about

No money its all for fun. Plus cars are setup differently for anyone to make turbo decisions. One has meth injection, bigger turbos, injectors and the other has 5 bar fpr , 18g turbos and 1 bar tune.

I bet you ..the Tial tiptronic car will be murdered if the k24/18g car has custom tune,meth injection and injectors and runs 1.3 bar

Okay so V and I talked about it. He brought up a good point. His car has a 5 bar, no meth injection, no injector upgrades, and he's running only a 1 bar file. So the conclusion is this. I should easly be able to pull 3 cars on him. Honestly if after spending the premium of my set up over his im not able to walk away then I will be disappointed. Im not trying to do this to bash his car or start a flame war. Im doing this for fun and to see if paying the extra funds for the GT28's, meth injection, and a custom tune is really worth it. I think it will be interesting to watch.
