How to remove cassette holder?

Sorry, I have searched and have found that it can be replaced and how to remove the cd holder but I have not found how to remove the cassette holder. My MA carbon pocket has arrived and I would like to install but dont want to bugger anything up. Any suggestions or how to will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Josh

Just pull...that's it

There are no screws--it just clips in there...it takes a little force, but it will slide out!

open all the cassette holders (I believe there are 4 if your car is an 01) and pull on all 4 simultaneously. It should pop right out.

I don't have anything to replace it if I pull it out. Does it look like a finished
interior if you pull it out? Or does it expose lots of ugly stuff?

It exposes the wires behind the center console. What most folks do is get the storage "box" to insert in their or replace it with stereo/radar detector upgrades.

Themistocles is infamous around these parts
Just removed the tape holder on my 02 C4S. It pulls right out without much effort as described in prior posts. Replacement storage shelf available from Suncoast and others for about $45. Ridiculous amount of money for a piece of plastic, but the tape holder delete does erase a lot of age!

Do you mean CD holder or actually TAPE? My 03 has a CD holder which was exactly the same as my 99 Boxster which also had CD holder. Why would an 02 have a cassette tape holder when my 99 had CDs.. bizarre...

Yes, I do mean cassette storage holder for four tapes. I bought the car with 11,000 miles, but the original owner had this car optioned with a 6 disc player located in the trunk and an in-dash cassette player. Go figure.
