Dyno results

Got my car dynoed today and I'm somewhat disappointed. My car is an x-50 with upsolute chip, awe exhaust, Bailey dv's and k&n filter. If you guys recall a few months back, 6speed member Vinnie put down around 500whp,500ft with the same setup as me, on the same dyno. So I was wondering if you guys have any idea why my car is shy some 60-70whp from his. The guys at awe suggested that I check my wastegate setting and possibly have them adjusted as this could be one of the reasons the car isn't as strong as it should be. I need to figure out what's up here though. What do you guys think? Thanks

Here are my results....

1st run - 434.2 hp @ 6250rpm
447.2 ft @ 4500rpm

2nd run - 426.6 hp @ 6500rpm
463.0 ft @ 4500rpm

3rd run - 431.7 @ hp 5000rpm
473.7 @ ft 4500rpm

Here's a poor quality pic of the graph on one of the runs.

By the way, Mike at AWE is the man, real nice guy. Mike, I will be back there once I figure all this **** out. Thanks man

Re: Dyno results

First thing you always check is hoses!!!! They are usually the problem.. I don't think the wastegates (unless way off) would cause that much power loss.
Evan
PS-Now that I actually look at the graph (doh ) the fact that it just leveled off and held that HP from 4500 all the way to redline would kinda point to the wastegates... I will let the real techs talk now

Is this a dynojet? I was able to put down 448/497 on a standard TT with Upsolute and Remus, stock air filter.

There are so many variables it is really hard to say what the issue was or is. Do you know what boos levels you were running? The wastegate adjustment could be in need., the octane of fuel. Dynos from one car to another are hard to do. Dynos should be used as a tuning tool not a comparison to the car like yours. I would say if all the above was on target you have a different program then the other car.

You're definitely off.... I was at 437AWHP/445AWTQ with standard upsolute/K16 turbos/exhaust.

This was done at AWE as well.

Check your gates for adjustments first, then look for leaks...re dyno for results. If no real changes, send your ecu back for the correct program along with your dyno results of course....

I know there are many variables when on a dyno but I expected I would be a lot higher as most chipped k24s with exhaust hit close to 500whp from what I've gathered. The chip program is the same, I'm using the upsolute k24 program. 94 octane fuel.

DropGems-

It was cool meeting you as well.

I would suggest a call to Upsolute and find out what to set the wastegates at. I know what we use for the GIAC programs, but it may not be the same.

Once we do that, we will pressure test the system to see if there are any boost leaks.

Once this is done, we re-dyno.

Don't worry. I'm sure there is going to be a simple and reasonable explanation.

Keep me posted.

ypshan, no not yet. I've been emailing upsolute questions regarding specific wastegate settings. I assume it's either the wastegates or a boost leak. Once i get the lowdown then hopefully this will be resolved soon...
