For all those consider'n a 24/20g set up
For all those consider'n a 24/20g set up
Just wanted to share with you all, today's experience in a 20g set up car, that belongs to another 6speed member.
We were at the track and had a go at about 4-5 runs maybe more down the 1/4.
I will say that the track was a complete mess and was on a scale of 1-10 1 being a skating rink, the track was at best a 5.
I owned a basic 18g set up p-car that ran consistent 10.8's-10.9s as long as i shifted 6 grand no more and had a decent 60 ft 1.9-2.1. That said, the car I drove today would make my car look seriously bad.
There was zero traction, to my surprise as I granny shifted into 4th, the car was wall bound as i feathered on and off the throttle to avoid the catastrophe. Luckily I avoided the wall but was dumbfounded as I couldn't get a feel of what that car felt like full throttle down the 1/4.
What Im trying to say is that no matter what gear or what rpm I was at, once boost
kicked in, the car thrusted forward like nothing I had felt before and then bunny hop, wiggle wiggle on off or else see ya later aligator!
WOW, what a difference the 20g made compared to the 18g! So much smoother, better top end response and gobs and gobs of power.
If anyone is toying the thought of such purchase please try and get a ride in one of these monsters! For the money how can there be anything better. I ran really bad times today due to traction, but I know how much faster this car is than mine and I was doing pretty good times for the set up!! Its scary to think of the potential 1/4 time if this thing hooks!!
I just wanted to share a story and perhaps motivate someone out there to get this setup coz YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Good write up D!! If track not prepped well then forget about it....the car will be all over the place, be thankful Corey's car was not in RWD mode. At 130mph, the car should be capable of hitting a decent 10s with a 1.9 60ft, hands down. Next time you will be in 10s brother......I have faith in you. I agree also that on top the K24/20G become aggresssive.
The car felt like a RWD with the amount of wheel spin I had. There was simply no way to bring on the power without breaking lose.
The MPH with my ol car was 132-134 depending on shift points.
This car will for sure hit a 140. I dont see how it wont, if we can get it to hook. Was really impressed with the amount of power this set up gives. Was really upset at the lame track prep.
Someone could have seriously got hurt, and they were concerned about a 500 price tag on prepp'n it right? there were hundreds of ppl there. LAME

So We had a great time even though the track really sucked! Dio is a great guy and took time out of his day to come and Hang around with us and have some fun, he hasnt lost his touch with the driving even with the extra pounds! LOL
I will post a video for you to see how bad it really was pedaling the car granny shifting and with a 2.5ft foot LOL all because of Lack of track prep!
Dio i check the ebc at 32% that worked out to 1.2 bar, so it may have spiked to 1.3 but i don't see how.
Not bad though 130+ at 1.2bar.
BTW i ordered the M/T drag radials yesterday on the way home!

Hey but i did have some fun with new Camaro SS on the way to the track, Funny thig is it Hocked on the street and held the power!
a certain someone did 141
A certain someone did 2mph or so less, than that CERTAIN car with .3 or .4bar less boost and K24/18s!
As far as your track visit goes those numbers are bad *** esp on that low of boost! Glad nobody wrecked! A bad track prep can ruin any fun.

consistently trapped 133-134.6 mph (peak boost 1.4 bar and at the time
I was running MS109 (104 oct unleaded) with Cats.
MK
The only K24/20g car in town here in MPLS (Bobby's white turbo) is significantly faster than mine but I do not know the exact trap speed it has but I could easily speculate...which of course is just a guess)
Corey, you finally listened to me about tires about time!!! Now you will go a lot higher MPH, just watch. Things will come together soon just be patient my friend, glad to see you guys having some fun. Any wet t-shirt contests there?
