Total Protect Plan - Aftermarket Warranty, Is it any good?

I'm getting quotes from a dealler who will sell me a plan. They are trying to sell me the premium protection which covers most stuff.

Does anybody have this?

Thanks in advance!

Al,

The only experience I have is with EasyCare (Gold). Bought it through Ed Napleton in Westmont. It is fairly comprehensive - even tires if damaged by road hazard.

Would be interested in what you find out about Total Protection...mine is up in January and I am going with EasyCare again unless I find a better alternative.

Well, I would go with easycare but need to find a dealer that would sell it to me since I already own the car and it's out of factory warranty.

If I hear good feedback, then i'll get total protection and keep you posted.

Napleton Porsche in Westmont, IL. That is who sold me mine. I already owned the car and it was out of warranty. If you are not near them ask them to give you another dealer. Mine cost $3100 + $300 (I think) for an inspection for 30 month 30,000 miles - my car had 39,000 miles on it.

That's it? "Premium Protection" is the sum total of the description of the name of the plan????

And "most stuff" is the coverage?

You really MUST get a copy of the POLICY (not the coverage description). You will usually find that while it sounds like they cover 'most stuff', there are exclusions and rules that render many policies almost useless. DO NOT rely on anything other than the contract- no verbal description, no "I called them and they said it was covered"....

It is actually quite a task to find and purchase a decent policy- be prepared to delve into the details....or perhaps find out in 18 months that you guessed wrong.

A

I got Total Protection Plan (Supreme Coverage) when I purchased my used 996. It has a list of exclusions in the "What Is Not Covered" section of the agreement / contract.

So far I was only able to use it when the ignition assembly (a common repair for 996's) needed to be replaced. My deductible was $50.

Interested to hear although I hear EasyCare is the one with best reviews heere. Whatever you DON'T GO FIDELITY. It has so many exclusions I'd recommend using your money for toilet paper rather than paying for Fidelity, much much better value.
