NEW DD - Nissan 370z to keep 996TT company

Picked up a Nissan 370z recently as a daily driver. Tired of renting cars while car is in shop.

So far 1000 easy miles, really reminds me of my 996c2. I'm getting quite tempted to start modding it, but getting mixed opinions about it.

Here is a picture i took on my phone, more to come.

996TT's come undertuned from the factory, these cars come w/ 95% of their potential from the factory.

Do an intake and exhuast and call it a day. FI is too much for the thin rods on the VQ.

Great Choice as a dd.

Strange... when I get my 996TT (fingers crossed) it will be MY daily driver. No secondary car unless I want to drive the wifeys SUV.

I too use my 996TT as a daily driver. I've had it for about 4 months and put 5,000 miles on it. I love that damn car! As for the OP and the 370Z, congrats on the purchase, I hear they're pretty nifty cars. It's funny how the more you mod a 996TT, the less it makes you want to drive it around, yet the more it makes you want to DRIVE it.

Cheers,
Ben

I'm trying to get rid of my G35 coupe and pick up a 996tt. The VQ is not nearly as fun to mod but the exhaust note is so sweet. Congrats on the new purchase!

I have the same problem! I certainly can drive it every day, i just feel like the high performance parts are so much more prone to getting damaged on the bumpy roads and streets.... I pick and choose when i drive the 996tt based on where im going, the route i have to take to get there, and the parking situation.

Nice car! I really like these and the G37 coupes. I used to DD the 996TT but started to put too many miles on it. Went with a S2K for DD...those are a little more mod friendly.

Great choice & congratz!! I like that u chose white much easier to maintain as your dd & black as your leisure car. Nice options of vehicles to choose from in your garage.

My wife wants a G35 and I personally think that Nissan got it right with the 370Z. I didn't think they did it right on the 350Z, but love the G35 as a daily driver... I'll be buying her a G35 in the not so distant future...

Mike

If the 370 is a dd, don't mod it too much, you'll right back where you are with the Porsche.
Just put on some wheels, get it slightly lowered then see how you feel. It's peppy enough to scratch the leadfoot itch to and from work.
Congrats.

My brother has a G37 coupe. I believe the 370Z and the G37 share the same engine. It's a really nice car.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I'm really enjoying the 370z... 1200+ miles logged in a little over a week.

I'm not sure what the thing in the middle of the rear bumper is. It's like a tint clear plastic cover; Maybe a tow hook behind it?
