must be gettin old or this stroke thing has affected my brain. i get in the car and now wanna hear tunes... all i ever cared about before was hearing the motor.

i'm even thinkin about exterior upgrades. so whats the best move to make for a speaker upgrade??? have a dealer colse that advertises in our local porsche club mag

 

Sounds like a good plan to me, assuming you are talking about a stereo dealer.

 

Stock speakers are of surprisingly good quality. The weak link is the amp and head unit. Change those first. If you're still not happy then do the speakers.

I would also say check out Rod Birch. He does a lot of Porsche work and each car is a unique audio environment and he seems to know what he's doing.

He emailed me a 996 stereo "option sheet" and it is great advice. I had done much of what he recommended and am very pleased with my system.

I would change the speakers first. My installer showed me the factory units and like most factory speakers, they are really cheezy. I've always changed the speakers in my cars and it makes a huge difference.

 

Reus Audio is also very very good.

 

I have a Zapco Competition Amp and Front Zapco Competition focal speakers if your interested. I will let it go cheep!
