ROB MD's current build ? Nice
Rob,
Your car has taken several turns since it first left Protomotive a year or two ago. Could you update us on its current status?
I believe it is a 3.8 built by Akram with help from Protomotive?
I understand it made over 1100 RWHP on Protos DynaPack Dyno last saturday which is the highest that has ever been seen before. You also
stated it made some riduculous torque numbers which has many of us intrigued...
(My car made 628
on this same dyno on different day)
Kudos to you (like several others recently) for pushing the envelope and trying new things. We all benefit from this. Also let us know which procucts are Markskis new stuff (911tuning.com) as I am interested to hear.
Finally, myself and several others would LOVE to see another form of performance measure (THE TEXAS MILE WOULD BE PERFECT
).
to confirm the incredible dyno numbers.
best,
MK

The build of my motor took place the summer of 2007. The reason I asked Akram to build my motor was because it blew a head gasket. Interesting side note is my motor was built in Akram's garage because he did not have a shop at that time. The impetus to build a 3.8 liter kit was two fold. First, there were no successful 3.8 liters kits running and secondly it would give Akram a good name since he was an unknown in the Porsche community. The kits and most of the parts were purchased from Todd Knighton. This included the 3.8 liter kit, y pipe, intake system and tune. We used Pueter rods, stock crank and stock heads with Todd's custome intake and exhaust cams to push the GT 35Rs. Akram design new head gaskets since there were none available for the 3.8 kits. I think it was finished in November or December of 2007. Since then it has run fawlessly this included many runs in mexico as well as Supra nats. We even abused it with a 75 wet shot of jungle juice. The current changes include a new tune by Todd, BBi coils, Marski's headers, y pipe, exhaust and intercoolers. I hope this gives you a general configuration on my motor.
Sincerely
Robert

Marski design a Y pipe with larger circumference; acutally, everything he sent me was much larger than what it replaced. The fuel system is simple. It contains 10 and 12mm lines that are feed by two parallel bosch 044 pumps that is regulated by adjustable FPR.
