My Texas trip is hanging by a thread...
Mike,
Sorry to hear that, it doesn't sound good. If it's heads lifting, can it be controlled by running lower boost that does not lift the heads or does permanent damage occur with one lift and the gasket require replacement?
Also, any idea what type of expense to repace the gaskets?

Absolute no brainer...seeing as the engine is out..might as well do rods too and....
All joking aside, I have a hard time believeing that I lifted the heads with 1.3 bar with the occasional spike of 1.4...
1- you could have if the widebands are lying to you. popping at peak torque is not an inspiring sign.
2- When you are running meth, you can run 1.3 bar. When out of meth your pump tune will only do 0.8 bar. The question here is what happens if you run out of meth in the middle of your run at 1.3 bar? Can the ecu kill power before you lift the heads, which you will do with the oncomming detonation at 1.3 bar. if for whatever reason, your meth system failed to provide at any time what happens?
there is lots of what if's, but I am throwing out a few.
Mike, I sincerely hope that it is not serious.
did u check for the dried coolant build up on cyl3 or oil residue in the coolant expansion tank??
No oil in the coolant. Couldn't see any dried coolant anywhere...everything is black and looks like oil...
Pleasure was all mine Larry. Sorry to be so short, but you know...clock is ticking...Thanks again!!!
The only feeling I have right now is confusion, (if that is a feeling).
