My Texas trip is hanging by a thread...
Agree that problem is likely on non-pressure intake side. I had idle problem without codes before mile. I had a driver's side turbo inlet hose loose and there was a leak between my airbox and MAF pipe. Once these were sealed she idled like a champ.
Thanks guys. Sounds like I should check the easy and obvious before I go digging...
I don't have it all the time either, but most of the time...and always at the same RPM.
agreed i had it 4 times one day and the only thing i did different (in the middle of a 2500mile road trip) is i gassed up with ****e 90 octane from a crappy really really little town and i drove the car until it was basically outa gas no boost filled up with 93 shell gas from a high traffic station and it hasnt been back but i also need a set of new plugs n coils but its the exact sound u have explained. when did u change yours last?

Just let me know when, it's ready for you!
Hopefully it is something non-crucial!
Need to do a full on hose check. Call you tomorrow sometime...

do you need a reason to build a new engine?
