Spanked by a 996 Turbo
Hello 6 spd people.
Im new to this forum.
Today on the way back from Lake Travis, headed home to Houston (290)
I ran up on this Turbo
Anyone know him???
I was in my “Stock” 2004 C4S (had it a few years) my daily driver.
We ran the cars UP a few times. (Safety 1st, open road, no one around)
Only one problem…… His dogg can “Hunt.”
Don’t think I have messed with anyone with this kind of acceleration before.
Guess one would say … got my A$$ handed to me on a steal gray platter.
He needs to change his license plate to “U2SLO”
Anyway, we pulled over and chatted about 911’s.
(Nice guy and Very knowledgeable about Porsche’s)
He told me about this forum. (so its all his fault, another 966 on your forum)
He also mentioned a up town Saturday morning coffee meet in Houston.
Anyone know the location?
Anyone know some simple mods I can do to my 966. After today I kinda felt like trading it in on a 4 door.

It is cheaper to buy a 996 Turbo and mod it.
Believe me I know this from experience after owning a 996 and immediately
looking into and pricing out SuperChargers for the car.
S/C is the only way to make the car substantially faster.
Buy a turbo, it will be the best present your EVER bought for yourself.
Welcome and good luck!@

That has to be him, his name was William. His car is SICK fast.
So, now I have been looking around the forum for wheels, air intake, exhaust and spoiler. See what he did to me
... Grrrrr
But if you're looking to seriously increase power, like Woodster said, Supercharging is the only way to really increase HP on a N/A car unless you go deep and get into the heads and pistons with say a 3.8 liter kit. Best off selling it and moving into a 996TT if speed and power is what you seek.
Good story and yep these cars are sleepers
Welcome to 6 and this is where it all starts brother.

RE the 996, been there, done that. The only viable sc is the Ruf setup, all others are look cobbled and will kill the motor. Having said that, the smart move would be to get a 996TT asap, this is a world class performance car available at bargain basement prices.
Thanks Todd for the txt yea it was me I was struggling with west tx 90 octane probably full of old n watery gas n detonating n had to back out but it was great meeting you man good luck to you all. Steer this guy to cars n coffe next month Todd he's a cool guy.
Todd and I were picking on cam'd vette yesterday on 290.
Todd and him started neck and neck I was 3-4 car lengths behind. Todd ran away from him and I reeled the Vette in and put another couple of cars on him.
