flashed X50?

Has anyone flashed there X50 without burning up there clutch or is a new clutch part of the deal? thanks for any thoughts

The clutch should hold o.k. up to 550tq.-ish. You may have a tired clutch already. You will want an exhaust and new plugs to get the most out of a flash though. Then there is an entire list of stuff you can do after that.

If you have worn out the clutch a bit before the flash, the flash may have put it over the edge. Easy for that to happen, that is for sure.

thanks for the responses I thought I had read most peoples clutch goes not long after they flash there car and some that had no proplems. I dont drag race or abuse my car but I geuss I wont know until I go for it.

Clutch will go eventually, and soon if you drive it hard.

If you flash AND exhaust, then yes it will eventually need replacing.

I'm not sure you got the answer I was reading... I have K24s, aggressive flash, exhaust, wastegates that hold 1.2...and a stock clutch. I will definitely need a new clutch eventually, but I don't think it is a "must do when you flash".


See what happens, don't drive it into the ground if it starts slipping (to protect the FW) and if it needs it then do it...
