The rear wiper on the turbo is the devil.

I managed to scratch my car not once, but twice this weekend with the rear wiper. I am at a loss for words. I am at a loss for words because the rage is so heavy in my mind.

A friend on this board (Dock) said it best when he spoke of the two types of turbo owners on this board (if you still have the rear wiper that is):

Those that have scratched the rear with that wiper and those that will.

Eric will be getting a call from me really soon. I will remove the wiper, the motor, and fill that void with a nice little plug. I might actually burn the wiper, in all honesty. I wonder how hot the fire will need to be in order to melt it.

What is the average going price for re-painting/fixing the area that the wiper scratches? Am I out of luck or will the paint shops be able to do a good job? I have basalt black metallic, so it might be more difficult to match.

Oh, and happy holidays.

Correct. The PCNA offices aren't too far from where I live. I wish they would do some type of recall or admit that their rear wiper is the devil. That's all that I ask.

I am disgusted with myself right now.

use a small zip tie to attach the blade to the arm. this will prevent scratches due to the wiper blade scratching due to the arm recoiling. easy and simple.

Basalt is an easy color to match. I had a T/A wing installed on my TT and match was perfect.

the proper way to fix it is to paint the entire fender. well, there is always a non-proper way...

the wiper is completely uneccesary in my opinion, unless you frequently drive in snow...

I've been thinking of removing it too, just for a cleaner look. I don't think I've ever used it once LOL.

I assume it pulls out in about 2 minutes ... simple and straightforward?

Also, does the plug that bumperplugs sells seal tightly enough to keep out water, etc. or do you guys seal it with some silicone or something?

Bring it on guys.

Yes, the wiper delete plug is intended just for that - what a silly waste unless you are in rain all day every day.

The plug seals tightly, but due to the exterior mounting point, and the possibility of water entry into the interior cavity, a tiny bead of silicone is recommended for watertightness.

And we've just beefed up inventory and are adding new colors to the Wiper Delete Plug line, so just order online anytime.

Thanks!

Very sorry to hear about this; I couldn't speak english for 30 minutes after I scratched my car with the wiper. I removed mine the day I scratched my car.
