Looking for ideas on rollbar.
Before anyone flames me that I should search the forum on other threads, have done so.
I am looking for a rollbar for my 2003 TT. I have been doing 1 DE/year & plan on maybe 2-3 per year so I think it's probably a good idea to put one in. It would also allow me to anchor a video cam inside. My TT has the OEM Bose speaker system. Ideally I would like to have some access to the rear (storage)--Nobody will sit back there. I would like to go with Stainless steel if possible. Aesthically, it gives a "clean look" to me. I would appreciate any recommendations. Lastly, I would like to use the existing mounts so I do have to cut carpet/drill if possible if I ever want to remove it.
I wasn't sure if Tequipment has anything like this. I saw a new 09 GT2 at Mid Ohio that had this setup, which really looked nice.

I have a DAS rollbar. You can see the installation with pics here:

For this one, you have to cut the carpet over the rear strut towers to expose the bolts. If it really bothers, you to do that, you'll have to try something else. It might be that the rear seat belt mount points are strong enough.

Techquipment is the stainless bar you are looking for. Suncoast would be a good place to inquire. The DAS bar is superior IMO. It picks up the shock mounting points to stiffen the car but it needs to be painted.
Just got off the phone with suncoast, they said porsche bought back all the tequipment roll bars from all the dealers.. probably due to a law suit. He said some dealers may have them if they took them out of thier inventory in time.. Coupes and cabs do have different bars FWIW.
One just popped up on rennlist. http://forums.rennlist.com/

I know someone in MPLS that took a Porsche techquipment bar with its standard mounting points and strengthened it with other bars. Perfect fabrication, all SS.
Call me if you want me to see if it is for sale.

Thanks for the replies. Powderjay put me in touch with a great guy over on Rennlist who was selling a tequipment rollbar. I should have it in a couple of days. Does anyone have DIY pics of a rollbar install.
