I personally would not put that exhaust brand on a Turbo, even if the car is almost 10 years old..

Worst exhaust in the business. Free is too expensive.

That system was on my current car when I bought it. I like it and have had no problems. I did check the cats before installing the turbo upgrades. I wanted to make sure that there would be no issue with restrictive cats. The mfg and part number were visible on the cats so it was easy to verify. The cats are made by a reputable European supplier and are large diameter 200 cell units. Fit and finish on the whole system seemed fine when I had it off for the turbo upgrade.
The car is loud but I like it that way. I had a 993TT with muffler bypass pipes and it's not quite as loud as that.
Also, I had a 91 turbo with a complete B&B exhaust system on it that I bought used. Never a problem with that system either. Sold that car with just shy of 100K miles.
I'm not saying that I would buy B&B over any other systems out there, just that the system that came on my car is fine by me.
So for the negative responders, what specifically is wrong with B&B as a brand/company or wrong with the system? Anything specific I need to keep an eye on?

I also have a Billy Boat system that came with my car when I bought it... the sound is very nice (at full throttle is intoxicating). I never had any problems meeting strict California smog either.

However, loud was not what I was looking for so I replaced it with the stock piece. In terms of power, relative to the stock unit, the only seat of the pants is that the car seemed to rev a bit faster with the Billy Boat piece. In terms of weight, it is a LOT lighter than stock - I would say about 20-25lbs, versus the stock which seems to weigh 45-50lbs.

The Billy Boat is currently sitting in my garage (San Jose, CA) - has ~ 8K miles. I've been meaning to put it up for sale - let me know if you're interested.

There is a Europipe Stage II "Quiet" on ebay at present.... Best of both worlds: quite and power.

2muchtime,
Do you know the difference between your "B & B GT Race exhaust with the headers" and the LeMans system that the OP asked about? Maybe that is part of the difference in the posted opinions. I don't have B&B headers on my car, just ported stock units. On my car, the B&B components are everything after the turbos.

from what I have been told the Lemans piping goes into the muffler then back out, if you notice picture of the GT Race the muffler is sort of side piped for normal driving but under heavy pressure it bypasses muffler and straight out the back?? So I was told, When I floor it it growls very loud and everybody (even in other cars with there windows up) look at me, not to good calling attention to yourself as your flying down the road...

The GT mufflers state that they are High DB in the description. By the way they sound in the clip on their site they are awesome, but too loud for a DD. The Lemans set up is the quiet one. Power gains are debatable like any power adder that is probably why you dont see them shouting from the get go that it gives you x hp. The approximate standard for B&B is +10 for mufflers and +10 for headers. On a turbo I have no idea what the gains are I would guesstimate slightly higher than NA. Two of my buddies have it on their 964s and they are very pleased.
BTW forums are not the best way to get product information. This forum is no exception, say for the last few replies. Apparently there are a bunch of people in the beginning of this thread who are experts, but cant cite any examples. I did not see any suggestions by the nay sayers either about other systems. B&B is a high quality manufacturer, their prices tend to suggest they are a bit too proud of their products, but if you can get it on sale that is a different story.

SpeedTech
Switzer has new budget pricing
Fabspeed
BBI

I just got a reply from B&B on the GT/Lemans differences:

Thank you for your inquiry. The only real difference between the two
systems is the sound level. The Lemans is what we consider a touring or
street system and emits a deep robust exhaust note that is louder than
the stock system but not overbearing. The GT on the other hand is more
aggressive and what we consider more suited for the track. The overall
appearance is the same between the two systems and performance only
varies a couple hp and is not noticeable by the seat of the pants. Both
are made out of 100% T304 stainless steel and weigh the same yet are
lighter than the factory part. Both systems use 200 cell HJS Metal cats.
