Bridgestone Potenza S-02

I'm replacing all 4 tires.

I have stock rims and am running PZero Asimmetricos currently with 10,000 miles on them.

Thoughts on the Bridgestones?

S-02 is already discontinued from Bridgestone. S-03 is the replacement of it. S-02A is a totally different tire & it's a Porsche approved OE N-spec tire.

S-02A is a fine tire and very good in the wet to boot. Some people on the board had some issues with PS2's (AMGETR). I had them and thought they were OK. Soft sidewalls though if you are tracking.

PS2's are French too, yuk. Go for the Bridgestones.

Bridgestone S-03s rule. I have no complaints.

S-02s stick better in the dry, but the S-03s are that much and more in the wet.

PS2s are a true competitor to the S-03s, but I prefer the Bridgestone brand (Forza Ferrari).

Either way, it's a win.

Cheers,

I agree...S-03's rule in the wet. Not great at the track though.

Why one would track on street tires is voodoo to me. That's more of a given I would think.

Agreed Ben.

S-03 is better in the wet due to a different rubber compound designed specifically for maximum wet traction. That's why in the rain the S-03 is pretty much top dog. The tread pattern is fairly deep and more open than the S-02 as well. On the track the S-02 is a top performer and may be a smidge better than the S-03 depending on the track/conditions. But are both great. Also, the SO-2's over time have have proven to remain a little quieter than the S-03's. Both are good tires, your weather conditions will determine which is best.

Got the S-02 A's today. $1,300 out-the-door balanced, installed and aligned at Grand Prix in Costa Mesa. Half hour wait and the tires are awesome. Stick like glue compared to my old PZeros.

I was going to buy them from tirerack and save a couple hundred bucks, but no 6speed discount, and I'd have to ship them, take them to a store, etc. Sounds like too much hassle...
