Lidatek customer service? Is there any?

I have called the number the Lidatek gives for their orders and customer service. I never ever get a person, always an answering machine. I still have not received a response so that I can ask questions and place an order.

The also have not responded to my e-mails.

Has anyone dealt with Lidatek? I am not sure what to do.

That's wierd. I called them two weeks ago, got a person immediately and ordered the product. Got it in the mail early this week.

I would hold off placing an order with Lidatek for a couple of months. They are coming out with 2 new models that should be better than the current, intrim fix for the faulty LE-20's.

I had heard of the LE-30 but not the LE-35.

From what you say, the LE-20s are no good. Is this true?

Most people on the M5 board swear by the LE-20s ...hoever, I heard the transponders fail in cold areas (like here in MA!!)

Hmmm.

I live on LI, NY so we have cold too.

That is interesting info.

I can wait for the new models, no hurry at this point.

I have a beastpower mirror coming so I figure I should get the lidatek to go with it. I already have a V1.

I keep calling Lidatek.

Now the number does not work and a message says...

"You have reached 425-806-2044" then it beeps to leave a message. This message comes on when you call 888-324-6911 or 425-348-5888.

It does not sound good. Almost like they are out of business.

The fax number does not answer.

Bad news?

I have spoken to them

They are not out of business. In fact they want to be board sponsors. One of the owners was very nice and did tell me of plans for a new unit. I think they will be a great asset for this community.

Did they say why they do not answer phone calls or return messages and e-mails?

I finally got through to Lidatek today...

They were VERY nice and informative. Apparently they were in the process of a move. That explains everything.

Anyway I will be waiting to order an LE-30, the new unit that is coming out in a few months.

I called in when my LE-20 wass falsing every couple of blocks. I got this Andrew guy on the phone who was so enthusiastic, he talked at me all the way home from work and for 1/2 an hour while I sat in my driveway. I'm not complaining, I dig all that tech geek ****. Non the less he assured me the LE-20's where prone to having a grounding wire snap off in the transponder. Andrew tells me it was due to the heating and cooling of the bond between the metal housing and the resinated filler circuit board(or what ever). They are shipping an intrim replacement that has a screw which binds the ground to the case. He suggested that I wait for one of the "2" new models which were to be out a couple of months ago:

LE-25: similiar to the LE-20. Slightly larger and more perceptive transponder. Same "stealth" type of method for screwing up the Lidar gun. Basically it slips in the odd lazer blast that the lidar gun precieves as a "usual" type error, not allowing the Lidar to get a meaningful read on your speed. Relatively undetectable and good for use in locations where it is illegal.

LE-30 similiar to version prior to the LE-20. It uses a machine gun approach to overwhelm the Lidar Gun. The Cop WILL know you have a Lazer Jammer and will have no way of detecting your speed. Advised useage in areas where it is legal to operate such a device.
