Visiting NY

Guys

Off topic but I am off to NY for a week with my pregnant wife in Feb.

Having only been to Florida and Vegas before can anyone recommend somewhere nice to stay and the must do's while there?

restaurants, activities, hotel, restaurants...

Cheers

It's kind of cold so instead of the outdoor activities, maybe hit up a museum.

MoMa is a good one if you enjoy art...I'm more of a Museum of Natural History kind of guy.

Restaurants, go into Zagat and just choose...cause there's just so many tasty places in NYC!

You can't go wrong by staying around Times Square (fixed taxi fare from JFK, around $50), but it is very pricey. The Met museum is very nice and huge. I got my Statue of Liberty tickets from here... http://www.statuecruises.com/ . Do a musical... Lion King is interesting. Don't go to Nobu japanese restaurant... totally overrated. There are many many good restaurants everywhere. Deli sandwiches are huge.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Definitely see a musical and wanted to stay either Times Square or Central Park.

Statue of Liberty is a must, thanks.

There is a Nobu near where I work so I wont bother with that!

Steven, how do you think I got in this mess

For musical, go see Young Frankenstein, funny and awesome cast.

As far as places to stay, anything that you've heard of worldwide will do.

As far as restaurants, for steak, Delfrisco's (49th and 6th ave)
for sushi, try a place called blue ribbon, really good
for tex mex, Dos Caminos, great margaritas and guac
If your into museums, moma is awesome, have a membership and right now there is a great exhibition from the out there director/artist Tim Burton

If you have any questions PM me I've been in the city for pretty much my whole life

You may want to try Jean Georges for lunch. It is a 3 star Michelin restaurant that offers 3 plate lunches for under $30. A great stop in the middle of the day. Other good stops are EMP (Eleven Madison Park), Picholine, and Per Se. Most offer nice lunches as well if you are unable to get a reservation for dinner.

A place that I love the stay is the The Library Hotel The rooms are nice and they offer complimentary wine, cheese, and hors d'oeuvres from 5 pm-8pm. It is located right down the block from the New York Public Library. We love the place because the staff is extremely attentive and always going out of their way to help you. It's got that nice charm that just makes you want to go back again.

Hope your stay goes well and post up some pictures from the trip!
