50 and raining now and back to the 20's in the next few days. Not happening any time soon. Mr No name can go run some 60-130's and we'll know how it will turn out. I'm not afraid to run, I just know that I have traction issues with anything under 60deg temps, oops I've said too much.

I know you are not afraid, but it would be polite from Mr.no name to answer that it'll happen when the weather gets better.
You'll get him.

Ha ha, you guys are like a cat that knows there's a mouse under the refrigerator! Don't worry, Mr. No Name is still here and not hiding from anyone, I have faith in my old girl if you want to do some rolls.

How will it turn out? I thought Vipers were about as fast as Porsches, no? Anyway, I'll accept your Pepsi challenge. Since I assume this will be done on regular street tires, we'll have to do this when the weather clears and the roads warm up. If you have traction issues, we can even start from a faster roll. This is all in good fun, but you can bring the camera too if you'd like. Either way, I'm in!

BTW, I haven't taken my car to the track, so I don't have any numbers for you.

I live in Hebron now, moving to Fairfield soon. If you wanna start from 120 that would be cool.

I live near Hammonasset State Park, so Fairfield is a bit of a hike, but I'm sure we can find someplace in between. 120 would work for me, but for the sake of keeping the speeds relatively sane, maybe 70 or 80 might be a better number to start from... unless you know of a somewhat local place where speed limit and room are of no concern.

Speaking of which, any local air strips around that rent out to clubs or groups for this purpose? I thought I heard about one on LI doing this last year, but I never heard the details or the outcome.

BTW, I'm looking forward to the video myself!

My suggestion is to have two additional cars with you as spotters (they may also video), one in the front and one in the rear. All four cars have two way radios and are in costant communication. The run cars should have video runing when it all starts so we get a clear picture of the advantage one car has over the other. If you follow this simple rule, you will capture some great, useful video and be as safe as you can get.

That might be the way we have to go. I did see a thread about an airstrip rental, but with no recent update, it doesn't sound like anything is happening with it.

We'll try to get video when we do it. Vipers are fairly rare around here as well, I don't see too many. They are fast cars, but not nearly as refined as P-cars are. They shake, rattle, can be hot, and can be a PITA to get out of. Mine is an older GTS model (1996), but I hear the newer ones are a little more civilized. Even though they are completely unrefined and raw, they have enormous personality and are a nut to drive. Not a car I'd want as a DD (like a P-car), but a really cool weekend car.
