AMS Billet K16 1st Track test
AMS Billet K16 1st Track test
So it being 73 and sunny decided to head to the strip this afternoon. Im kicking myself square in my *** for not doing a GT2 slave conversion before hand since the vagueness of the hydraulic assist made launching more about luck than skill but oh well.
First track pass in my car
R/T .924
60' 1.977
330 5.321
1/8 7.893
MPH 99.06
1000 10.083
1/4 11.884
MPH 126.40
2nd
R/T .711
60' 1.997
330 5.292
1/8 7.832
MPH 100.10
1000 9.985
1/4 11.766
MPH 127.52
3rd
R/T .851
60' 1.932
330 5.216
1/8 7.749
MPH 96.37
1000 9.907
1/4 11.686
MPH 127.52
After my 3rd pass a track official came over and said I needed to slow down or park it since I didn't have a cage, so my night was over. Like I said launching was a joke with a pedal that feels the same the whole time. I know I can get plenty more out of it im ashamed at 1.9 60s but it didn't break so the night was a success.

If you get the supporting fuel mods and piping, you'll do a ton better. But 127 is a killer trap. What boost are you running? Do you have an EBC?
Nope
The 16g is a Mitsubishi wheel
The Billet wheel is an AMS design and will have a different profile to the 16g
The AMS profile will be more efficient in design, meaning it'll spool faster and waste less energy via heat transfer
The fact that the wheel is billet is of no consequence other than the fact that a billet wheel is easier to make and change its profile compared to a cast wheel
All things being equal (profile, weight, etc) a cast and billet wheel would perform the same - but as stated, things are not equal and the AMS will be superior in design
I have no idea if AMS are doing anything to the turbine side

car has AMS K16s, Injectors, EPL Flash, AP ICs and straight pipes
also the car was running on a blown MAF and snow tires
my 60s are garbage, once I put the gt2 slave in ill see how low I can go, not planning on getting to much more out of the big end but lower 60s will help out overall.
