while adjusting the wastegates using a vacuum pump ,are you pressurizing or applying vacuum to the waste gates?thank you.

 

If you are using a vacuum pump you would be applying vacuum.

 

To adjust the W/G use PRESSURE. W/G only trigger under pressure so to adjust when they begin to active that's what you want. Use a handpump that can pressurize or an air supply that's metered WAY down.

 

So both ways are correct?applying vacuum or pressure !

 

NO. First reply is incorrect. Only pressure to activate. Use a T fitting so you can apply the same pressure to both (or apply the pressure before the line T's) that way you can synchronize them.

Simple. YOU DO NOT USE A VACUUM PUMP.

Most little hand held ____ pumps can apply vacuum or pressure, depending on how you hook them up. So when someone says 'just use a handheld vacuum pump to sync them' they really mean pressure pump.
