996TT K16 Build - Bone Stock to Ready to Rock!

Local customer got this 996TT back in 2003 and finally decided it was time to dance with it. He contacted us here to get the mod bug defined and figure out how he could get streetable power without killing the bank. With a target of 600HP to the crank, we laid down a good map for him to reach his goals.

The Car - 2003 996TT K16 Tiptronic
The Mods -

Are these K16/16g's brand new turbos or recon done on an exchange basis? Superclean install BTW.

I am sorry. Am I seeing correctly that a stock 996TT TIPTRONIC is making 350+ AWHP?? Is that possible? Isn't the consensus number supposed to be closer to 300? That number is higher than most stock 6sp dynos I have seen?!? On 91 octane no less. All with a very flat torque curve as well. Please fill me in.

352/.75 = 469.33 or about 54 hps high for 25% drivetrain loss.

Stock = 415hp x 0.25= 103.75

415-103.75= 311.25 this is what stock whp should be, based on 25% drivetrain loss.

Todds best subject in school was home economics.

well then, its running strong huh Tony? It does seem high, but who cares, it's a baseline for future mods.

Could be strong or the dyno could read high, I agree it doesn't matter how the baseline reads. Dynos are tuning tools....look at percent gain in the end.

EXACTLY! All we care about is if we gave you a car that gained 100HP or 150HP. Cause if the car baselined at 400hp and made 25hp, people would be unhappy. But if you look at any other car we have done, a stock K16 baselines at around 340awhp on the Mustang. We usually say 20-25% drivetrain loss. Some cars are alot stronger then others.
