I am very happy with the SRX and would not tolerate a windshield mount anything unless it was clearly superior, and I don't believe it is.

passport srx! very satisfied with its performance n like tim said its very compact n stealthy.I hv driven pass school zone(within limit of course) where occassionaly you would find volunteers manning a radar gun with a visible monitor showing your speed as you drive by.On every occassion when i drove by,their screen would go crazy or blank-out n you should see the expression on the guy who was manning the radar giving me a dirty look as i drove by!!
By no means i am encouraging anyone to speed thru school zones but in short the lazer/radar shifter system works.

had both, like the SRX much more.

1. It is hidden, and this is a definite plus
2. Radar Jammers really do work
3. Comes on much quicker than V1

Gneypiks;

I have a SRX and am not aware of any jamming capabilities. Could you please explain how you are "jamming" the radar?

Thanks

Two different beasts. The SRX is a standalone LASER shifter (not really jamming but "shifting" the signal to give you a few seconds of reaction time), the V1 is a Radar detector.

I use and recommend the Passport X50 with a separately purchased ZR3 LASER Shifter. The ZR3 is essentially the SRX but integrates with the X50 to provide a combo detector and LASER shifter.

The Escort X50 is a much improved model and many of the people who use the V1 are comparing it to the older Passport. Recent tests give a very slight nod to the X50 but the difference is very slight. For me, it came down to the difference between having "arrows" on the V1 and having the capability of integrating the LASER shifter. Since I live in a LASER saturated area, I chose the X50/ZR3. Good luck.

Tal, the SRX is the 8500 X50 and ZR3 combined into one unit. It is not just a laser shifter, but also a X, K, and KA band radar detector, just like your X50.

Art,
One day you will see how it works when the guy screams "LASER ALERT" then the screen will read shifting. It is a very rare occasion and I have only been hit like 3 or 4 times. It is standard on an SRX, and will shift the police officers laser signal, therefore they will not get an accurate read.

I love my V1 and would not consider changing - but, would the ZR3 work with the V1?
