Installed sport seats and have air bag light on?
I have a 2003 TT that had factory plus leather seats. I installed sport seats and I guess they don't have air bags in them. I now have an air bag light on. Has anyone experienced this and is there a way to turn it off?
Sounds like someone didn't disconnect their battery when they unplugged their seat? Needs to be reset with Piwis or Durametric. You can unplug and plug back in 100 times as long as u don't turn the key on. ALWAYS disconnect batterywhen messing with plugs and electrical connections.
Dealer only..sorry. Durametric won't keep it off..

Wait a second- your 03 has the airbag in the door, so it doesn't matter what seats you install... They could have an airbag or not, shouldn't matter...
Am I smoking something here? I'd say something didn't get re-connected, or you need the Durametric reset.

If you keep the buckle (if you still want to use your 3-point seatbelts which most do), you have a wire coming from it that merges with the seat heater cable and enters a big ol connector. Under the seat.
This big connector can be opened up with a clip on the side, then the seatbelt part of this connector can be pulled out and kept in the car with the buckle, while you throw the OEM seat and the rest of the seat harness out.
Then you just connect this outer part for the buckle into the main connector still on the floor - use a ziptie or electrical tape so it doesn't vibrate loose.
Then reset with Durametric = No codes and they won't come back unless you disconnect the buckle again.
