Which coilovers do you guys recommend.................

Street use, no track use, crappy chicago roads, but want better handling and a lower stance. PSS-9's how low can you go without being on the bump stops? That is my big worry with the PSS-9 which seem like they would be the best choice if not for the bump stop issue. What do you guys think?? TIA.

My understanding is that if you slam the PSS9's, you run out of travel. Ask KPV.

How about factory X73 package? It's non-adjustable but since you won't be tracking it, it's a great alternative if you're worried about the ride.

It depends on what rate setting you go with.

Colorchange's response is exactly my concern! If you slam the car, you hit the bump stops and the car becomes extremely unstable at high speed. I drove Shankgt2's red turbo when it had PSS-9's set at GT2 spec and the car was all over the place at high speeds. How low can you go on with the PSS-9's without hitting the bump stops?

Arling,

How I'll get them if Tom and you agree to come to Chicago install them and then align the wheels correctly.

I had problems with my PSS-9's making noise when the wheel was turned in either direction just shy of the turn limit. The noise was a popping type that resonated thoughout the car.

The PSS-9s are now being removed and X73 installed.

My vote goes for the X73.

Here's my car with X73:

It's a great suspension and I'm very happy with it, but if you drive on truly awful roads and are planning on getting 19" wheels, maybe you'd be better off with PSS-9s @ X73 ride height?

Whatever you do, don't do springs only. Talk about unstable...

Thought this information that I gathered recently from other 6speed posts may be good info for this post:

# USA Turbo
Front 158mm +/-10mm
Rear 158mm +/-10mm

# ROW Turbo
Front 138mm +/-10mm
Rear 148mm +/-10mm

# X73
Front 128mm +/-10mm
Rear 133mm +/-10mm

# GT2
Front 113mm +/-5mm
Rear 138mm +/-5mm

"The front ride height is measured from the bottom of the tension tie strut's attachment to the frame. There is a bolt head there. You measure from the bolt head surface to ground level.
The rear ride height is measure in a similar manner except it is from the milled surface of the bore hole in the rear suspension side sub-frame member."
