really cool that we were able to swap the weight around and see the difference...outside of possibly 1 car heat soaking more than the other, it's obvious my fat *** makes about a solid 1 car difference. so if you weren't sure before... pull those back seats and subwoofer box out before you head down to tijuana... HEH HEH.

I'm starting to think that GT-R does not have a legit 600 whp. What is a dynomite?

I know the GT-R's aren't that strong up top for the hp, but it should at least be a little faster than that. Has it been to the strip and got a trap speed?

i am questioning the 600whp figure too. rather let me rephrase that i am just not familiar with that particular dyno. that is why i personally like dynojet, everyone uses it lol and most of them read just about the same

i would have to disagree with a statement that that GTR is not strong up top.. Drews car trapped 131 and the GT-R is right there with the M3.

7.1 60-130mph and 130+ on the 1/4 is strong top end in my book.

I don't consider 130 mph top end. That is mid range to me. I figure they were racing to much faster than that. Could be wrong on that though.

And besides, there was no race without a passenger, which would likely see the M3 pull the GT-R by a car or two. I would imagine the GT-R would trap high 120's. I would expect more from 600 awhp. We "are" talking about a 700 hp car here.

We didn't take it past the midrange. The M3 trapped 131 MPH at the strip in 79 degree weather and 102 in the 1/8th mile, that GT-R did 10.7 @ 134MPH on the Vbox, and slightly pulled the other Black GT-R that made 595AWHP on a DJ.

Both the M3 and GT-R are in the low 7's, 60-130MPH. The GT-R and I both have ran very close to an AWE 750R 997tt, although there wasn't really a clean start on those runs. But I hear you, eventually we will run a 996/7TT or another car that will pull us real good!

Alex, so far far so good on the Tranny.

Well something is not right if a 996 TT cab with K24's (580-600 crank) is equal with or pulling on these cars. Something is definitely not right. Roberts car will not trap 130. He'd be lucky to trap 125 with the factory turbo's in a cab. Not to mention the slower shifts with a Manual.

A 125 mph trapping car does not pull on a 131-134 mph trapping cars. And 125 is about all you're going to get out of K24's without a ton of weight reduction, supporting mods or something like Meth injection. Something is wrong with this picture.

I understand your doubts and on paper you are right, but Robert has a nice collection of vids where he normally does better than expected against some very quick/fast cars, we have the same discussion just about everytime after we do these runs! Robert pulled on my on my last car, a 530whp Supercharged E46 M3 before his car was running as fast as it is now, and I trapped 124.8 MPH in that car.

He's pulled on or ran very close with-

1. Modded LP640 rated at 675hp
2. ZR1
3. 580whp SC'd C5 Z06
4. 3 Stage 2 997TT's
5. 2 996tt GT700's, one trapped 131MPH
6. Stage 2 HPF M3, 640whp - trapped 125MPH
7. Stage 3 HPF M3, 635whp
8. EPL A28 996tt

I have a AWD K24/18g car. ALL STOCK but the turbo's and tune. (fuel pressure regulator is a 5bar)
I trap 132-133 consistently at the track with 100pct, at 1.15-1.2 bar. It may be a tad lighter with the GT3 seats.. but there is a cage and a system... so that probably makes up for it.

Not sure if that helps.....

Drew, great runs and you really pulled the White GT-R with a passenger.

As far as my car is concern, I usually run strong against cars with 100+ more claimed HP. I can tell you that Sid350 (Vivid Racing setup), Zulu (GT 700), and Art's (GT 700) setup all pulled on my car. These are all 996TT coups that ran very strong.

Only one 997TT I ran got me. It was Anthony's Protomotive 700. All of the 997 TT cars I have run were at least 2 cars back and all claimed to have 650+HP (GMG, BBI, GT, EVO, and AWE).
