Mexico Run "VIDEO" The rematch
For the most part, we are stuck in Socal with REALLY bad 91 octane gas. The GTR uses pump 100 octane... Yellow Turbo was on 91... Roberts car has seen MS109 99% of it's life, and when you combine that with the ability to make minor adjustments to an off the shelf revo tune to maximize that, I'm not always surprised at his results. Based on my previous bad experience with my turbo car... my next turbo car will live on MS109 or C16...
That is correct. My car has seen 109 for 60% of it's life. I started with 91 until she was broke-in. Then went to VP 103 and then 109. And yes VP 109 is really 105 octane.
As far as the 1/4 speeds I like all of the speculation.
I would like to see you all join the PCA registry. Due to my health issues I have yet to implememt my vision of the PCA Registry. But it has it's place along side forums, tuner events and special events like the Long Beach Grand Prix.

Not to take away from Robert's efforts, but he's not tuning the car. He's making basic adjustments to his ECU using tuning software that allows him to do so; based on his fuel, his driving style, and his location. It's also his car, so if he messes it up, he only has to worry about getting a new motor. Not losing future business or ruining his company's reputation from negative press.
Robert is limited to what his REVO program allows him to do, and also by his knowledge of the inner-workings of the ECU. If a real tuner (one of the 3 or 4 that I know of that actually tune the ECUs in these cars..the kind that writes the tuning parameters that he is using for his car) were told that they could run as much timing, and as much boost that they wanted, based on a specific type of fuel in a spefific area of the country, without having to worry about negative repercussions if anything were to happen to the car..you'd be surprised what they could do.

If it is in fact possible to get 600 whp out of the factory K24's I'm sure we'd have heard about it by now.
But if not, someone please send me some information on how to make it happen because I'll buy it. I'll gladly eat my words about the other cars hp in this case.
The record is like 130 or so from the EPL Methanol, lightweight turbo.
I would study up on what K24's can do if I were you. There is only one documented case of a K24 car trapping over 130 (that I know of on this board), and it was very lightweight and running methanol.

Is this on a stock K24? Whos cars was it?
Yes, it was Mark Davia's car tuned by EPL. The car that won the one lap of america 6 times in a row. It was very light compared to most of our cars. I don't remember the exact weight, maybe Tony can chime in.
Was it the 2810lb car?
With all the cars running K24's for almost 10 years now I'm sure some people have custom tuned them to the max. Probably here on this board if anywhere.

As far as 600 rwhp, I highly doubt that. At 600 rwhp, a car is trapping 134-136. K24/18G territory.

Even a cab that will weigh almost 4000 lbs with driver (about ~ 3900 lbs)? There has to be a couple of mph in there somewhere, and since the cars he ran against appearantly trapped 131 and 134 respectively, he should still not be pulling on them unless he is in fact trapping 134-136 and running 600whp.
And with the GT-R, if in fact they are trapping similar speeds, the GT-R/M3 should win by virtue of shift speed and no loss of boost.
