Busted

Got a ticket this morning on 121 just past Infineon Raceway and before Viansa Winery, on the way to Rutherford. Must have been POP, because there was no hint of warning from my V1. Chippie said he clocked me at 80 (55 zone), but he would give me a break and ticket me for 70. Said this was a big break because 25 mph over the limit would result in immediate confiscation of my license by the judge, and no chance to erase it by attending traffic school. If I'd only slept in a bit, the traffic would have been too bad to be going even that fast, which actually seemed quite moderate at 7:30 am.

Why can't ya go to driving school? Sorry to hear about what happened.. I personally was in a similar situation (70 in a 45) about a month back, my V1 let me know that there was Laser (but I was the one being shot at with the laser gun )

Sorry to hear about your ticket, Fred. So if you can never be sure with the V1, then why have it at all? Just use your spidey sense.

Turn the V1 off and let the Force be with you while bombing.

You know, I hadn't gotten a speeding ticket in nearly ten years with no radar detector, and I drive fast. One of my first drives out of the city with the detector installed and I get nailed.

Is the 25 mph rule a statewide thing or local? I do 25 over all the time on surface streets...guess I better watch out.

Don't know if it's statewide or not -- first time I had heard of it. For all I know, Chippie was BS'ing me.

I can believe it. False sense of security is the biggest threat. Should never let your gut instinct be blind to technology.

I have driven decades without a detector. Don't think I would/could have avoided the few tickets that I've gotten over the years.

With or without the detectors, you're taking a chance when you speed. And that's the bottomline.
