Just Got My 996TT! Wheel/Tire Question
Hi Guys,
I just picked up a 996TT last weekend. My friend offered to sell me his BBS LM's from his 996 C2 for a ridiculous price. I bit and bought the wheels from him. The front's are 235/35/19 and the rear's are 275/35/19. The rear wheel is 10" as opposed to the stock 11" wheel width. Is that going to be an issue? Can I just change the 275's on the rear wheel to 295's and the 235's to 225's to retain the stock tire width's? What are the effects of running improperly sized tire ratios? I've been reading on the forums and that seems to be a huge no-no.
Thanks

Well, you should have posted this ?? before pulling the trigger no? LOL...
The bummer is that you went from an 11" to a 10", depending on the off-set you have on the BBS will determine the spacer kit you'll need for the rear, I would estimate 17mm - 25mm might help to push the wheels out a bit.
The fronts should be fine, I'm sure around 45et....
The tires in front are fine at 235/35/19, the rears are an other issue as in order to maintain something close to factory you'll need a 275/30/19 or 305/25/19 or 315/25/19 for your specific vehicle.... Now we all know that getting a 305/25/19 or 315/25/19 to fit a 10" wheel is going to be HARD!!! You cannot use a 295 since you went to 19", it would cause you to gain an full-inch and that cannot be good...
If you have other questions you can call me or PM me for help....
You may need to get a set of spacers for the rear and stick with the 275's.....

Thanks for the info guys! I got a great deal on the rims with tires. $1600. I'll probably just sell the rear's and get 19x11's. What offset should I get so I won't have to use spacers?
Your tires ARE NOT MATCHED IN DIAMETER for a AWD 996 Turbo.
The fronts are 25.5", the rears are 26.6:- these will destroy your differential.
If the rears were 275/30-19 you would be OK (a5 25.6")...well, they'd be too skinny, but atleast not damaging.
And why the 19" rim? Performance is lowered.
Welcome!

as already recommended. sell and get an appropriate set for your Turbo. u probably got excited when you saw the BBS wheels, don't blame u, but no sense in trying to make them work on your car.
I would run a 15mm spacer with that set up.
