Cleaned MAF, WOW !!!

Thanks for all the DIY MAF threads, wow what a difference. My car has been twitchy (Jerky) at low speeds, was difficult to shift smoothly, and sounded wrong under boost.

I cleaned the MAF as recommended and its a whole new car: smooth at low speeds, much smoother shifts (the rpm's don't fall as quickly), and sounds like well orchestrated music.

Thanks again for all the shared knowledge.

Simply buy some maf cleaner at your local autopart store , remove your maf spray it down nice careful so you don't touch the little wire on the maf , it drys within seconds , them put it back in.

There is a DIY on this process from a member of this forum. I did it following this guide and was very pleased with how smooth the throttle response was afterward. Very easy to do. I plan on doing this every 3k miles or so.

bsprad is infamous around these parts
Picture links in the referenced DIY are broken. Can anyone describe where the MAF is? I am running too rich at low rpm and I think cleaning the MAF is a good and inexpensive place to begin.

Would the Hitachi MAF benefit from this like the stock MAF??? I would assume so, but would hate to pull it apart and get no benefit!
