I’m ready to upgrade the turbos on my 996. I’m leaning towards a K24 setup rather than an Alpha setup. I feel that 600whp is the limit on a tiptronic. True or false?
Are the 20G turbos significantly more efficient on 91 octane than the 18G? I would expect the lag difference to be minimal but the top end power on the 20G to be much better and much more efficient on 91 octane.
Any issues with boost creep with these turbos when running an internal wastegate?
Is it realistic to run 1.3-1.4 bar on 91 octane without methanol with this setup? I would upgrade my intercoolers to GT2 intercoolers (or equivalent upgrade), install injectors and reflash.

The K24/20's are not for the faint of heart. One has to commit to serious horsepower mods. They require larger than GT2 IC's and larger piping throughout. Injectors, Fuel assistance, Clutch... YOU HAVE TO BE READY TO FLY.

power on a tip im not sure but i think you can go abit higher i know a few people on here that run a bit more power with no issues .
proper calibrated waste gates you will be ok .
some tuners like to run higher boost on less timing and vice versa, so you would have to talk to your tuner about this but i wouldnt recomend it , i would run meth injection since you have 91 craptane.
gt2 intercoolers are a waste , dont waste your money , save it and get a nice set .
for 20s you need full supporting mods , intakes etc , prefferebaly a blow through set up , or they WILL choke up at high boost . i would suggest the proto style full intake setup . y pipe, ford maf blow through set up , proto style intakes relocated in the fender wells .and IC's .injectors and ofcourse a retune.

I would not run 1.3-1.4 bar on 91 with 20gs unless you're intent on blowing up your engine. I only ran 1.1 bar on my 18gs on 91 octane. If you're serious about going with a 20g there are a lot more supporting mods that should be addressed. Also, I wouldn't consider going with the GT2 intercooler as an upgrade regardless of what turbo you decide on. I do not consider them to be an improvement over the stock ic on the 996tt. They're just not worth it. The 20g is a serious beast. There are a few on here that have the 20g. I would talk with them about it. Good luck!
The same owner send his tranny to MKB then he went from 20G's full system to Protomotive alpha 3076...Here is the video...still on pumpgas

20gs can easily put down 660rwhp at 1.4 bar with supporting mods.. ours did... but 91 octane really blows... thus you need ICs, intake , injectors, 2nd fuel pump kit( the rest is assumed you already have... otherwise the 20gs will be a disappointment... UNVMY996 had the 18gs, 20gs and now my bigger kit... he's a good reference point...
Boost creep? NO we run EBC and can control that via the set gain settings....
If dont plan on doing it right dont do it... you will be disappointed...
do this along with your20gs and you will fly: ask anyone that has the set up...

As for the injectors, does everyone run 62lb injectors? If so, what is the limit of these injectors with a 20G turbo at 1.4 Bar? Are these injectors close to maxing out at this point or is there plenty of room?
Can you accomplish the fuel delivery requirements without resorting to additional or high pressure pumps? Can you just run larger injectors (80lbs) and lean it out to accomplish the same result?

depends .. but 600rwhp is about the max.. evoms offers a stall converter...
