forge dv or Ap bov

I am debating on going with the forge diverter valves or Agency Power blow off valve. Which one makes a louder noise?

i went for the bv, but be sure you have the strong spring... i had to order it after installation and do it all over again... the stock spring is for little girls tri cycles.... it blows off on acc....made my boost gage go crazy......

a diverter valve makes no noise as it doesn't vent atmospherically, it 100% recycles the air. A blow off valve makes the whoosh sound as it can vent to the outside but the agency model isn't really loud like other companys you would hear on some japanese tuner cars. It would need some type of whistle on it to sound similar.

How long should a BOV stay open between shifts? On my tiptronic car, it sounds like it opens for a full second. I would think this should be more like 1/4 second. In the higher gears under WOT, it opens even more.

Otherwise, the BOV sounds nice and is pretty well made.

Is there a performance advantage to either or is it just coolness factor of the sound? I've got 58k miles on my tt and considering new dv's at my 60k service based on some comments around here. Is it an either/or for dv vs. bov?

You possibly could do one of each on each side of the f pipe, but it would complicate things.

Performance is debated, but there should be no gain in either system. Either they work or they dont. They are more of a preventative maintenance item than anything else.

BOV unless running large amounts of boost are unnecc and do more harm than damage, fast and furious much? buddies VR4 BOV's used to stay open , causing the car to stall at 60mph
