Unhappy ATS/Carbonetics triple disk clutch problem

Recently I installed ats/carbonetics tripple disk clutch in my 996tt. followed everything per instructions as fas as stacking the plates in correct order and torquing the bolts properly.

After the install the car, engine running, would not shift into any gear. With engine off it shifts normal leading me to believe something is up with the pressure plate. Probably not fully disengaging from flywheel.

The slave is properly bled, all correct 964RS required components are installed.

Please help, as I am not sure what could be causing this issue.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same clutch and was advised to have a an experienced installer install the clutch. i would take it to the dealership and have them take a look at it.

Calling the manufacturer might be helpful at this point too. Good luck.

Ms4cd,

I put mine in today. Kind of the same problem. I am using the gt2 fork and slave. I think the angle of the fork has changed a little bit. I did not check the height of the old vs triple setup but I think my fork is hitting the bell housing and stopping there not letting the fork move farther.

we're using all the 964rs parts requested and still having the same problem. the gt2 slave and fork should be fine as long as you're using 964rs throw out bearing and all the other suggested 964rs parts. i sent mine back to carbonetics to see if they see anything i don't. just waiting for an answer

It's an alignment problem when you installed the clutch. Have a guy do the install that installs clutches all day long. The dealership did mine in 3 hours and changed the tranny oil too. It is pricy but the install is correct.

Thanks for your input.

This job is being done by a tech, with assistance of a PCA national tech chairman. We strongly believe it's the part since the car will not shift no matter how the clutch is installed/aligned.

Good approach. I had the clutch installed ove two years ago and it is rock solid. Who is doing the install, Kasper? If you need any assistance over at ATS I can make a call for you.

I talked with them today and and they told me to cut 15 to 20mm out of the push rod on the slave. it was a lot of work to get it right. The tiltons I have installed in the past were a breeze to install and you loose that bs pull type set up. you put the hydraulic slave/ throw out bearing in and call it a day. I tried a new to me product that others rave about plus save a few bucks and instead I spent hours and hours trying to get it to work.
Mine is working now but is slipping like crazy, also I was told 800 miles to break in (Tilton good to go right out of the box). I hope not.

i'll let you know what happens next week when i get the other pressure plate they're sending.
