Insurance question?
Insurance question?
I was wondering what rates you guys are getting for the 996 turbo. I went to call a couple insurance companies but they didn't seem to have an easy time determining quotes for the turbo trim.
So can anyone who is a single male, 25>yrs old, and has a clean driving record, or close to clean, chime in please.
thanks in advance

I am paying about ~$60/month full coverage w/clean record on Geico. At first they couldn't identify what kind of car I had so I specify for them the orginal MSRP etc... I was surprised at how low it was.
I only put about 2k miles in a year on the Vette as it was not a DD. Rates may be better in Texas. However, I did not shop rates just added the car to my policy.
I am considering a 996TT. How long have you had your car? Are you pleased with it? Anything you do not like? Thanks....

how's your driving record? i've been with this girl for a while and plan on marrying her within a year. im currently 24 years old, and if i wait until i pass 25 and get married, will my insurance significantly lower?
thanks for some answers guys, my t4s is going out of lease and im looking for a used replacement.
for reference- this turbo will be a daily driver, my commute to work is less than 15 miles.
I have a clean driving record. Your rates should go down when you get married by how much i,m not sure. Before i purchased my 2003 996tt i checked with my insurance for rates first. You should be able to call your insurance company to get a ball park rate. Just give them a VIN off a 996tt your looking at and they should be able to help you.
Actually I have only had the car ~3 weeks
. But I did alot of research on this forum. It is definitely a great resource. This is the first car I can honestly say I plan on keeping for yrs and yrs... I was averaging a different car every 1.3 yrs until now. For the price I do not think you can find a better "exotic" car.Pros:
1. Power TT...I always preferred FI
2. Unlimited MOD potential
3. Stance/Look
4. Reliability of engine...I can't really speak to this since I have had the car only a short time
but this is what everyone says.Cons:
1. Maintainance costs...this is to be expected after all it is a porsche turbo. Ex $1500 for 60k service or $4k for clutch job
2. Interior is dated: Can always be updated
The one thing that is required when purchasing this car is a good PPI. And if you get a 6sp be prepared to drop ~$4k right off the bat to replace the clutch.

I am with State Farm and pay around $60 a month as well. Perfect driving record and excellent credit... It is not my DD and listed as a pleasure vehicle (less than 7500 miles a year). This is with my multi-line and homeowners discounts.
My DD old van and car are almost that much each!
