It is a very hard job and a good amount specialty tools that cost some bucks. That's why built motors cost so much.

There is a post somewhere regarding rod change...Make a search...Also...why not synthetic oil during first start ups?

Synthetic oil does a better job off protecting against wear and wont let things break in.
