P0430
P0430
Hey Guys,
I just bought an '03 996TT with 25k on the clock. I have a few questions, hopefully someone can help me out;
after driving it only 50miles the CEL came up, I scanned it and I got a P0430 code. I know my car is fitted with an aftermarket exhaust. After doing some research I've found that some people put O2 extensions on the O2 sensor after the cat, in order to avoid the annoying CEL. Also, I have NO IDEA what exhaust I have. The Guy I bought it from states that it is a Eisenmann exhaust, but after doing research, I realized that just the tips are Eisenmman.
My question is;
-Is this ok to do?
-If so, is there a DIY write-up on it somewhere
-Where can I get these O2 extensions. Anywhere online (Ebay?)
-Lastly, How do I find out what kind of exhaust I have?
Thanks
Nick

I made one for my Volvo XC70 when the car went cat-less. It's easy and I had the bung laying around my shop. You can get them here: http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...sort=2a&page=1 Is the car flashed/chipped? If so the tuner should have a file to eliminate catalyst codes.

TO be honest that is another question I have, because my 996TT seems to be ridiculously fast! Im sure there is more to it than an exhaust upgrade. I have no way to tell what other mods where done.
When I bought the car I got all the documentation reagarding maintenenance, but nothing regarding mods. but there is a dyno sheet that reads 467.9 AWHP from Henessy Performance in Texas.
Id love to know what my car is packing!

I bought the car from the 2nd owner, which didnt really seem to know much about the car. He had it for 3 years and drove it less than 1000miles
Yes the original owner lived in Houston. He name and info are on all the invoices.
I live in east end Montreal besides the Lafontaine tunnel. If you want me to look at your car just PM me. I also got a Durametric if you want to look at the overrev type 1 and 2....
