still running around with my stock y pipe. am useing evo ics . is that old stock y pipe killing performance if so how much hp can i expect with a real y pipe.and do i have to remap??

 

i am putting back my stock Y-Pipe, Throttle Body and T-Plenum. not much performance gain. you only need it if you are above the 850HP level.

IMO, only minimal hps are added and doesn't add much when driving at lower speed. However, I do notice that bigger piping helps more at higher speed; the car just continues climbing after 100+ and doesn't seem to slow down.

 

probably a little extra turbo lag too, but when it comes on .....

 

steve you dont need it , the only time i would really recommend it is obviously if your going to do a blow through setup , ford maf etc,

and if your going for big power anything over 650 whp or so

 

IMO unless you're running 750+hp, this is one of the most overrated mods out there. The fastest 18g car runs the stocker.

 

they sure are good lookin, i did notice a big difference when i changed the pipeing to turbos, thanks guys aam just llokin for cheap hp
